Roy & Marie Ericsson

Roy & Marie Ericsson

“High quality and a low U-value in combination with a modern appearance” Roy and Marie Ericsson share a great interest for design and architecture, something their house, ”Villa Marie” in the older areas of Lomma, Sweden, clearly reflects. Having designed and built the house themselves, the couple found it very important that the windows are coherent with the appearance of the house. -“As we needed 49 windows and as each one makes a significant impact on the appearance of the house, we were very selective about which windows to choose”, Roy explains. The most important aspect of deciding on a specific type of window was that it should combine high quality with a low U-value. The couple then brought their demands to LEIAB. -“We started by looking at the manufacturers recommended by the Dept of Energy, especially concerning windows with a low U-value. LEIAB was one of the companies we contacted with a specific list of our demands”, says Roy. After having had additional contact with LEIAB’s salesman in Lund, Sweden, the couple realised that LEIAB could offer the windows they were searching for. Roy Ericsson emphasises that LEIAB’s advantage was that they only manufacture windows after their customer specifications. -“After comparing prices from other manufacturers who offer standard sized windows and LEIAB, we found that it was actually cheaper to buy windows with exact specifications from LEIAB”, Roy explains. Their house, “Villa Marie”, was completed two years ago and the Ericssons’ find that the windows have worked perfectly, both functionally and aesthetically. - “One huge advantage is that the windows have aluminium on the exterior and wood on the interior. This enhances the window’s aesthetics and also it’s practicality. As we have such a large number of windows it feels extremely good for us to know that maintenance is at an absolute minimum”.
